My passion for hospitality was instilled in me at a very young age. Both my father and grandfather dedicated most of their careers to the hotel industry in Kandy, Sri Lanka.

Growing up at Freedom Lodge
In 1996, when I was just six years old, my parents transformed their bedroom into a welcoming guest room and established a small guesthouse called Freedom Lodge. Little did they know, they were creating an extraordinary environment for a child to grow up in, filled with chances to connect with visitors from every corner of the globe.
I saw firsthand how people from very different backgrounds shared a common passion for exploration and discovery.
Around my mother's dining table
The real magic happened around the dining table. Guests gathered under one roof to enjoy my mother's homemade Sri Lankan dishes, swap stories, and enjoy each other's company.
Learning about different cultures sparked my own curiosity. It led me to explore Sri Lanka's rich history and diversity, shaped by its position along the ancient Silk Route trade paths.
Looking back, it felt as though the entire world had arrived at our doorstep.
Two parents, two lessons

My mother
My mother remains the heart and soul of Freedom Lodge. Her warmth, compassion, and love taught me the true essence of genuine hospitality.
My father
My father, with his practical wisdom and meticulous nature, mastered the art of tour planning. He always took the time to understand each guest's unique wishes, and went the extra mile to enrich their journeys.
